Timothy D. Knowles is a highly experienced EB-5 immigrant investor attorney, immigration consultant, and international businessman. A graduate of Yale University (B.A. History, 1976) and the Yale School of Management (M.B.A. Finance, 1982), Mr. Knowles’ rich and varied experience includes national-level commercial lending, merchant and investment banking, securities sales, asset management and Vice President of a public university.
Mr. Knowles has been engaged for the past 17 years in international business in the Asia-Pacific arena and for 12 years Aas a highly successful international immigration consultant. A cum laude graduate of the Gonzaga University School of Law (J.D., 2008, winner of the Linden Cup), Mr. Knowles is a member of the Washington Bar Association, American Bar Association and American Immigration Lawyers Association. Mr. Knowles is licensed to practice law in Washington State and is also a licensed Foreign Practitioner of United States law in British Columbia, Canada.
Nicholas Berning is a graduate of Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon (J.D. 2005), and Whitman College (B.A. 2001). He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association and the Washington State Bar Association.
Mr. Berning is He is licensed to practice in Washington State and is a Foreign Practitioner of United States law in British Columbia, Canada.
The Washington Supreme Court appointed Mr. Berning to serve on the State Practice of Law Board in 2009 and named him as the Board’s Chair in 2011. In addition, Mr. Berning has taught courses in Legal Research and Writing; Law Office Technology; and Interviewing and Investigating for legal professionals at Whatcom Community College since 2009.
Dallan Bunce loves law and helping clients achieve their goals. He offers a broad range of skills including: experience at a foreign government agency enforcing compliance, experience working in different cultures around the world in the public and private sector, fluency in Spanish, and legal experience on three different continents.
Dallan developed an understanding of compliance issues, while working for the agency tasked with consumer protection in Spain. There, he collaborated with local businesses to ensure their compliance with Spanish and European Union regulations. This experience provides him with a unique insight into what regulators seek and how to communicate with them.
Dallan has experience, and enjoys, working in transnational law outside of the public sector as well. For example, while working at an NGO, he discovered the excitement that accompanies analyzing policy issues and advocating for a solution to legislators and judges in Buenos Aires. Moreover, he has experience with international law as they relate to project management for businesses because he worked with lawyers, accountants, architects, and engineers to complete a call center in Montevideo Uruguay. These experiences translate into an ability to accomplish tasks while creatively analyzing complex legal issues.
After completing a Juris Doctor (J.D.) at the Stetson University College of Law, he completed a Master of International Law (LL.M.) in England at Stetson’s London campus. Later, Dallan completed a Master of International Business Law (Máster Propio en Consumo y Empresa) at the University of Granada in southern Spain. He also earned a Certificate of Chinese Law in Chinese Comparative Law from Nankai University (南开大学) in Tianjin China. He loves speaking Spanish, reading Spanish literature, and running.
Mr. McGrath-Agg’s practice is focused on business and family immigration, US work-authorization for non-immigrants, and business matters related to US immigration. He has assisted entrepreneurs with obtaining US work-authorized status for themselves and their employees in industries ranging from mineral exploration to film and entertainment. He has also assisted engineers, management consultants, and other professionals with entering the United States to work for a US employer.
When necessary, Mr. McGrath-Agg also assists clients with overcoming inadmissibility to the United States. He has successfully assisted clients with obtaining waivers of inadmissibility due to criminality, unlawful presence, fraud and misrepresentation, and “immigrant intent.”
Mr. McGrath-Agg is licensed to practice law in Washington State, and before the Board of Immigration Appeals and Executive Office for Immigration Review. In British Columbia, Mr. McGrath-Agg is a Licensed Practitioner of Foreign Law.
Mr. McGrath-Agg was born and raised in New Westminster, British Columbia where he still occasionally plays hockey at the same ice rink that taught him how to skate.
Brian Hobi was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He is a graduate of Renton High School where his classmates voted him “Most Talented Senior”. Brian received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Montana with academic honors. He continued his legal training at Whatcom Community College where he earned his Certificate in Paralegal Studies.
Brian joined the immigration law firm of T.D. Knowles & Associates in 2009 and is now a major contributor to the firm’s legal team. Brian has assisted many clients to immigrate to the United States as investors, workers and family members. Brian also develops and maintains positive relationships with key stakeholders in the immigration process, such as EB-3 employer sponsors, EB-5 Regional Centers, E-2 business owners and immigration agents.
Brian is a proud family man and an active member in his local community. Brian’s wife, Alejandra, is a Mexican citizen who he sponsored to become a U.S. Permanent Resident. Brian and Alejandra have a young daughter, Isabella, with a second daughter, Caitlin, due to be born October, 2014. In 2010, the Whatcom County Council appointed Brian to the Whatcom County Law and Justice Committee where he still serves as an active member.
